Job: 3D Engine and Feature Software Engineer

Responsibilities and expectations:

• Design and architecture of new and current game play features and re-factoring existing code.
• Development/Enhancement/Maintenance of runtime systems including graphics, audio/video, threading, networking.

Required Current Skills:

• Experience knowledge of Direct X 9.
• Excellent Knowledge of C++, and OOP.
• Experience with 3D math, physics and UI’s.
• Proficient with design patterns, STL, and templates.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional software experience.
• Organize, draft and implement design concepts

The ideal candidate currently possesses abilities in or experience with the win32 platform, direct X programming, MMO concepts and implementation, shaders, particle systems, collision detection and physics.

Job: ASP .Net Developer

Responsibilities and expectations:

The .NET Developer position includes developing and maintaining web pages and associated scripts written mainly in VB.NET or C# targeting the ASP.NET platform.

It may also include maintaining and/or updating legacy web scripts written in VBScript targeting the legacy ASP environment. Working closely with a junior web developer responsible for development of graphics assets and other less complex web development task may also be involved.

We require our .NET developers to work closely with a senior programmer/DBA to build enterprise class websites and admin tools.

We are looking for someone fluent in English that will fit in with our funky, dynamic and outgoing team.

Minimum requirements:

• University level computer science education a definite asset.
• A minimum of 3 years web development experience.

Abilities required:

• A good understanding of object oriented design principles.
• Understanding of, and experience with, the ASP/ASP.NET platform.
• Ability to read/write VB.NET, VBScript, Jscript, VBScript, and C# programming languages.
• An understanding of the fundamentals of XML and XHTML.
• A fluency in SQL and experience with writing code that interacts with MSSQL Server.

Job: Senior Network and System Administrator

Responsibilities and expectations:

We are looking for a dynamic and personable admin to run our WAN. It is a large-scale Windows based outer network. We require an admin monitor our server progress and take it in new directions. 24 hour on call availability is required as our product is real-time and requires max up time.

Also included is to maintain our existing network infrastructure and to plan for and implement expansion of that infrastructure to support our business needs. At least 5 years experience working with MS Windows Server OS, the IIS / ASP.NET web platform, and Cisco networking products is required.

The majority of the position’s day-to-day responsibilities involve configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of our public content distribution network that supports our web presence and 3D world system. As such, a solid understanding of current internet technologies, database systems and streaming media technologies, as well as an ability to design and implement pro-active security measures against real-world internet based threats, is essential.

A successful applicant must be comfortable working with all aspects of network security including assigning permissions, setting up user accounts, configuring router firewalls and VPN security, as well as active directory configuration and maintenance. Appropriate certifications from Microsoft and/or Cisco would also be an asset.

Travel to our other facilities may also be a requirement from time to time, as well as a willingness to be “on call” in the event of network emergencies. Our fast-paced environment and rapidly changing business needs are very demanding of someone in this position, and as such, solid interpersonal skills and stress management capabilities are very important.

Job: World Operations Moderator

Responsibilities and expectations:

Responsibilities and expectations of the World Operations Moderator position include but are not limited to:
• Actively aid and assist the Worlds Operation team in forming policies, structure and security within a 3D virtual world. 
• Help moderate the online community. 

Daily duties include assisting in:

-Monitoring and moderating social structures and altercations.
-Monitoring and moderating an online forum board.
-Evaluating and identifying social trends and behavioral problems within a community.
-Aiding in creating tutorials, graphics, videos and other educational media for the site.
-Brainstorming and designing social institutions and policies.
-Some basic level marketing and statistics work.
-Organizing meetings for volunteers, staff and users.
-Managing a volunteer staff of approximately 500.

-Drafting correspondence for users and volunteers.

Minimum requirements:

•University level or related experience in political science, psychology, sociology, marketing, communications or business preferred but not necessary.
•Some experience in internet principles, moderation, security and/or project management. 

Abilities required:

•A good understanding of project management.
•Online/Offline moderator and counseling experience is an asset.
•Basic understanding of, and experience with website principles and design.
•Ability to work within a team environment.
•Must be organized, a self motivator, patient and outgoing.
•Must be willing to work flexible work hours. Some travel, evenings and weekends may be required.
•Must be fluent in English. Knowledge of other languages is a definite asset.
•Comfortable with fast thinking, fast paced atmosphere, problem solving and short deadlines.
•Presentation skills are needed for both virtual and real world presentations.
•Must be a fan of video games and 3D applications.
•The site does deal with adult and mature themes. Applicants must be comfortable and mature working within these settings.
